Another Delicious Vegan Holiday Season

December is one of my favorite times of the year.

As one who LOVES to eat, we tend to be a little more out and about in the food scene during the holidays.

This year one of our closest friends is visiting for Christmas!

We decided to pick them up at the airport, something we rarely do, and add dinner at Stuff I Eat in Inglewood on the way. My goodness, the soul platter is just as delicious as I remember from when we first moved here. The barbeque tofu was a little off, but the rest was delish.

We get to take them to one of our favorite places to eat in the Los Angeles area, Shojin. We have to go a little further to their Culver City location as they closed their Little Tokyo location, but it’s definitely worth it. Dining with them is an experience. We can’t go often, but when we do we enjoy every second of delightful hospitality and every bite of delicious food.

For Christmas dinner we’re going to have leftover pozole from our party over the weekend, tamales from Tacos Sin Karma, a holiday roast from Trader Joe’s, and of course a bunch of veggies and mashed potatoes.

We may have time for breakfast at Millies in Pasadena, our favorite place for omelets, eggs benedict, and pancakes. They have stopped serving their vegan sweet potato pancake but the blueberry one is almost as delicious.

Throughout the week we also get to enjoy pumpkin bread one of Mike’s co-workers made us. I say throughout the week because she made us several loaves! Mmmmm!

Whether you get to enjoy a holiday meal with your person, your people, or even co-workers, whether it’s a simple feast at home, tamales at your favorite tamal place, or that favorite restaurant of yours, my wish for you is a scrumptious meal and time with people you love.

I am forever grateful to all of you who continually read and share posts from The Gay Vegans, as we try to continue to write about veganism, good, animal rights, getting politically active, and being kind to one another.

Go vegan. Vote. Be kind.
