Spending time in San Diego

I’ve been pretty fortunate to have been able to spend time in San Diego these past couple of months. Being there reminds me how much I love it, and that I could probably share a few more favorites with you.

Last summer Mike and I found NOW Sushi, in Pacific Beach. We just ate there again and I can confirm that we love this place and have loved everything we’ve ordered. The staff is kind and they sure know what they’re doing in making vegan sushi. Lots of flavors and textures. If you’re ever in San Diego and have the chance to go, go!

Civico 1845 is still one of our favorites. They serve delish Italian food and this past week when we were in town we brought family to check it out. The food is still delicious. The service was a little off but that’s the first time we’ve experienced that. Definitely a go-to spot if you love Italian food. They’re right in Little Italy.

Lotus is in Encinitas, just north of San Diego. This is a place we’ve been to dozens of times, always enjoying a great meal and wonderful service. We usually sit outside and enjoy the beach air. They serve all sorts of vegan options and I love their breakfast offerings. This is the scramble.

A trip to San Diego wouldn’t be complete without a hike. On a recent trip I parked at the Torrey Pines State Beach parking lot and hiked north towards Del Mar. Gorgeous! It’s not that long of a hike until you get to having to be on road, but it’s worth the time.

We’ll be back soon, San Diego!
